The examination is taking place at the University of Ibadan Distance Learning Centre, Ajibode, Ibadan.

The state Commissioner for Health, Dr Oluwaserimi Ajetunmobi, emphasised the importance of recruitment, noting that it aims to address the shortage of human resources in the primary health sector.

This was disclosed in a statement released by the state Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Dotun Oyelade, on Thursday.

“Their recruitment will further promote quality healthcare delivery in Oyo State,” she said.

In his remarks, the Chairman, Oyo State House Committee on Health, Saminu Badamosi, commended Governor Seyi Makinde for approving the recruitment, which, he said, was a demonstration of his commitment, and priority for the health sector of the state.

The Executive Secretary, Oyo State Primary Health Care Board, Dr Muyideen Olatunji, said the Minimum Service Package document prepared by the board revealed a huge gap in the human resource aspect, which, he said, prompted Makinde to approve the recruitment.

He disclosed that the present administration had renovated about 264 PHCs across the state, which, he said, were fully equipped, saying that, “people to be employed now are the ones to work at the various health centres.”

Muyideen added that the exercise would afford people access to qualitative healthcare delivery across the state.

He revealed that the candidates sitting for the examination had applied since 2021.

This is as he added that the two-day CBT exam was the first step in the process, which would be followed by an oral interview.
