No fewer than 750 women including widows and the aged on Sunday 26th December, 2021 benefited as the Founder, MyChoice Group, Hon. Omowunmi Olatunji- Ohwovoriole, an aspirant for Akure South/ North Federal Constituency under the All Progressive Congress ( APC) rolled out palliatives for widows and the aged in celebration of the Yuletide season.
Speaking at the event which took place at Akure City Hall, Omowunmi said it is an annual event she conceptualized since 2012.
Hon. Omowunmi who said it is not until one is blessed beyond measure before one can consider helping others, said her passion is to put smiles on the faces of her people and to financially equip women most especially to become dependent.
While noting that she is nothing without her people, Hon. Omowunmi said she runs two parallel groups – Monisola Foundation which financially empowers women at no cost and MyChoice Group which on the other hand process soft loans to help small business owners to run seamless business.
The Akure Princess who also used the opportunity to make prophetic declarations over the lives of the women, prayed for a prosperous 2022.
Admonishing participants on the reason for the celebration, the Special Adviser to Ondo State Governor on Transport, Pastor (Bar.) Tobi Ogunleye said Jesus Christ is the reason for the season just as he commended Hon. Ohwovoriole for deeming it fit to care for the aged and the widows.
The climax of the event however was the distribution of palliatives which include 2 kg rice, beans, Indomie, sachet groundnut oil, salt among others to the over 750 women in attendance.
Also in attendance to witness the mega distribution include APC leaders at the state and local government levels in Akure South and North, religious and traditional heads, leaders of women groups among others
