A non-political youth group comprising of youth’s from the Ondo Southern senatorial district, Ondo South Advancement & Welfare Consultative Association (OSAWA) has disassociated self from purpoted planned protests against the person of Hon. Festus ADEFIRANYE, reps member representing Ile-oluji /oke Igbo and odigbo federal constituency.
The group in a press release,Signed on behalf of the Leadership,OSAWA Executive Council by Lawrence Adebayo,the Director of Odigbo LG, Adetunji Tomilayo,the Director of Ileoluji/Okeigbo LG, Betiku Olajide, the Director of Transport and Logistics, Akinduro Isaac Bayo,the Assistant General Secretary, Akinsuroju Akinsanmi, the Director of Special Duties, released to our heritage reporter on Monday in evening in Akure, the state Capital, the Association described the planned protests as a way of inciting the general public with untrue and unjust information and particularly that, the Honourable member himself is a member of the Association which must be accorded with due respect

Odigbo/Ileoluji/Okeigbo Federal Constituency – Purported Planned Protest by Some Acclaimed Concerned APC Youths: Why It’s Necessary to set the Record Straight
What can be best addressed as the joke of the century if not the letter written by an inconsequential group called ‘Concerned APC Youth in Ileoluji/Okeigbo Local Government’ dated 17th day of February, 2024.
As an apolitical Association whose interest cuts across all sphares of life and her mandate area, encompassing all the wards, local government areas, state and federal constituencies of Ondo South senatorial district should ordinarily ignore such wacky letter calling for a protest against a federal lawmaker, Hon. Festus Ayodele Adefiranye, member representing Ileoluji/Okeigbo/Odigbo federal constituency in the House of Representatives. But then, it’s imperative to set the record straight due to the mission statement of the association; apart from the fact that Hon. Festus Ayodele Adefiranye is one of the members of OSAWA as well as all other public office holders across party divides in Ondo South Senatorial District, we can categorically state that the Honourable is representing the people both all members of several political parties and non members of various political parties across the aforementioned federal constituency.
It is nauseating that an acclaimed concerned youth of a political party whose action is politically motivated without minding the distraction, public unrest that will be introduced to the federal constituency as a whole and the senatorial district at large by the wacky call for protest.
OSAWA warns against inciting public unrest by this faceless group of people who have chosen to be tools of politicians in witch-hunting perceived political enemies. Our association is not interested in their politics being it dirty or clean because individuals have right to their opinion, interest and decision which the lawmakers had expressed without going overboard and it is expected that groups loyal to the Governor of Ondo state to counter the move as it is their right as well but it should not be exercised against public peace and create unrest. The Association is so interested in seeing more development in the three federal constituencies and importantly the senatorial district at large.
To the best of our knowledge, as progressive people, youths and elders inclusive, we should be calling on our lawmakers in both federal and state, also all other office holders in the executive arm of government both federal and state to bring more development to the people which Hon. Festus Ayodele Adefiranye has been doing this since his assumption of office as MHR
Within the period of eight months in the green chamber, Hon. Festus Adefiranye has achieved the following;
a. Hon Festus Adefiranye championed the rehabilitation and dualization of Ore-ondo-Akure road by moving a motion on the floor of the house to that effect
b. He ensured the design of the above mentioned dualisation of the Ore-ondo-Akure road project was captured in the 2024 appropriation budget.
c. He pushed for the establishment of Federal college of Nursing and Midwifery Okeigbo
d. He called for the completion of the Igbo Olodumare Power project in Ileoluji/Okeigbo, a project that has been abandoned for so long.
e. He conducted a free summer lesson for students of the federal Constituency which was observed in 7 centers of Araromi, Odigbo, Ore, Ajue, Ileoluji, Okeigbo and Bamikemo. At the end of the free summer coaching, Hon Festus empowers outstanding students with cash gifts and back to school materials.
f. He was one of the few Rep member who distributed food materials, cash and other valuables in December 2023.
g. He moved a motion on the floor of the house concerning those victims of petrol tanker explosion in ore of Odigbo local government of which succour is on the way for victims of such incident through the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA)
Etc
h. He facilitated employment into various ministries, agencies and departments. Most prominent was the facilitation of jobs for 9 people at the Nigeria Immigration Services, all of whom have resumed duty.
If Hon Festus Adefiranye could achieve all these in (8) eight months, we are confident that we will see more from him before the end of his tenure as a legislator. Therefore, we urge the MHR to keep the ball rolling.
The advancement of Ondo South senatorial district that houses three federal constituencies and nine state constituencies is important to us as an association and the good welfare of her people stand very important in our dealings.
The public is hereby advised to disregard any retrogressive voices calling for a political protest against the Honourable Member of the House of Representatives because such calls are unprogressive.
In the same vein, we urge all the law enforcement agencies to take note of this and view the endpoint of such wacky call for protest as crisis prone, that will not be friendly to the peace currently enjoying in the affected local government areas, federal constituency and the senatorial district at large, as such anti-people, anti-progress move might be resisted by the people, thereby causing unnecessary panic and unrest.
The general public should go about their normal lawful duties and business without giving room to any distraction like this.
