A high powered meeting of selected Ndi-Eze, Political Leaders of repute, Business Moguls, Former Permanent secretaries, selected school principals and headmasters was convoked this morning in Orlu as a result of two issues namely:
1. The rift between Nigerian Military and Eastern Security Network
2. The sack of 108 ISOPADEC staff by Hope Uzodinma’s APC government.
The Orlu zone leaders who gathered under the aegis of Orlu Zone Patriots said they are nolonger comfortable with the government of Hope Uzodinma and his All Progressives Congress (APC) Party.
A former Governor and 2 former federal legislators who chaired the meeting noted that the zone has never seen any government so wicked and unconcerned about the yearnings and problems of the people like the Hope Uzodinma’s APC led government in Imo state.
They complained that will Imolites are trying to recover from the effects of the locked down period occasioned by the deadly Corona virus outbreak, Governor Hope Uzodinma is busy chasing shadows and playing politics of calumny, bigotry and shared hatred.
The leaders said for Hope Uzodinma to be so proud of his arrogance by sacking 108 staff of Imo state oil producing areas development commission (ISOPADEC), after cutting their salaries by 80% and owing them for months, he has finally drawn the line to end his political journey within the 34months. This Level of wickedness is unbearable, the Spokeman exclaimed.
For over 30 days now, the activities of the Eastern Security Network and Nigerian Army in the state, especially in Orlu zone have permanently put the people of the zone in fear and unrest. Yet Governor Hope Uzodinma has not shown any practical move devoid of political sentiments or galleria applause to salvage the situation.
Today, innocent citizens are killed in Imo state, kidnapping and other social vices has returned to the state within one year, political hatred is on the increase in the land, the RAMP projects have been pended with nobody talking about where the funds went to, the traditional institution in the state is being politicized like never before, the rural dwellers are not in any way connected to either local government nor state government, civil servants are neglected, students are swinging directionlessly as youths and women are put in a confused state of shared propaganda.
The group lamented that Tax payers money and state treasury are looted for this of no insignificance while projects and infrastructures of the state are demolished for shared acquisition of public funds for personal embezzlement through “a repeat project modules”.
They further noted that the All Progressives Congress (APC) led government in Imo state has failed us, no wonder their is very low turn out in booths for the revalidstion exercise. 68% of most of us gathered here today are of the All Progressives Congress (APC) but we make bold to say that the party under Hope Uzodinma as at today in Imo state lasks vision and has failed the people of Orlu zone and the state in general.
Mrs Nzeribe, while lending her vioce said “ochichi APC wuru otua, gupunu anyi ooo”, noting that the leaders of Ohaji Egbema and Oguta are men in skirts as they are more interested in who becomes Hope Uzodinma’s right hand man than fighting for the interest of their people. The youths of the oil producing region have turned cowards as youth activism in the region is turned a noise making venture for the sole aim of making paltry gains”.
