One Person Dead, Two Others Injured In Abuja Road Accident
One person was said to have died on the spot as a result of the accident while two persons including the driver sustained injuries while another one escaped unhurt.
One person has been reported dead with two other sustaining varying degrees of injury in a lone accident that involved a Toyota RAV 4 in Abuja.
The tragic incident occurred on Friday January 3, 2024, along Mabushi – Nicon Junctiòn Expressway was traced to the loss of control by the driver when the vehicle skidded off the road and somersaulted after uprooting palm trees planted at the middle of the road.
One person was said to have died on the spot as a result of the accident while two persons including the driver sustained injuries while another one escaped unhurt.
Rescue teams including the Federal Road Safety Corps ( FRSC), Vehicle Inspection Officers (VIO) and the Nigerian police were seen surrounding the wreckage of the ill-fated vehicle with the registration number ABJ 914 PH.
The deceased has been deposited in a morgue while the injured ones are currently receiving treatment at the Maitama General hospital.
Meanwhile, one of the survivors, who does not want his name mentioned, blamed the accident on the driver and accused him of sleeping while driving.
Passersby were seen trooping to the scene to catch a glimpse and sympathise with the victims.
