One Dead, Two Injured In Niger Gas Cylinder Explosion
The incident happened on Christmas Day and authorities are yet to comment on the gas cylinder explosion.
A gas explosion at a vulcaniser’s shop at Kpakungun, a suburb of Minna, has killed one person and injured two others.
The victims of the incident, which happened on Christmas Day, were identified as Zakari Aliyu, Mohammed Usman Baba, and Umar Mohammed.
Faisal Avuya, an eye witness, said the explosion occurred after Usman Baba, the shop owner, refilled a customer’s gas cylinder.

“The cylinder became hot, and Zakari, who was an apprentice, fetched water to cool it down as they usually do. However, as he poured water on it, the cylinder exploded,” Avuya said.
The apprentice died on the spot while the shop owner and his son, Umar, sustained serious injuries.
Authorities are yet to comment on the incident as investigations continue.
