The news of the murder of Chief Tunde Ilori, the Elerewe of Owo Kingdom, by unknown gunmen came as a rude shock to the generality of the people of Owo Kingdom and the good people of Ondo State.
The yet to be identified merchants of death chose to cause the family of the deceased, and by extension the people of Owo Kingdom indescribable pains, grief, and sorrow at a time the world is preparing for the Yuletide. What an unconscionable act!
High Chief Tunde Ilori Elerewe was a man of integrity and an eminent chief whose position and services to the Olowo of Owo and Owo Kingdom were both strategic and highly commendable. Therefore, it was a cruel act to end his life unjustly.
The Majority Leader, Ondo State House of Assembly (ODHA), Honorable Oluwole Emmanuel Ogunmolasuyi commiserates with the family members, Olowo of Owo, and the entire Owo Kingdom over the untimely death of High Chief Tunde Ilori Elerewe.
The Majority Leader wishes to state that the High Chief did not deserve to die in this cruel way, and no one has the right to take the life of another under any circumstances. The law of the land is clear on this.
Hon. Ogunmolasuyi wishes to let the family know that he shares their pains and equally pray God to comfort those left behind by the deceased.
Furthermore, the ODHA Majority leader has also promised to follow the case with keen interest as the security agencies promise to bring to book the wicked and callous perpetrators of the evil act. His words to the family of Chief Tunde Ilori Elerewe are “strength, God’s mercy and fatherhood to the fatherless.”
