Ondo Head of Service inaugurates Change Agents for ODSIP

Ondo State Head of Service, Mr Dare Aragbaiye, has inaugurated Change Agents for the state Service Improvement Programme (ODSIP) across the 18 Local Government Areas and Local Government Staff Training School, Itaogbolu, with three Change Ambassadors.

Aragbaiye, while performing the inauguration said the purpose of the programme was to attain a vibrant and resourceful public service capable of delivering on government policies and programmes for the sustainable development of the State.

He said that the ODSIP is also to reform the service at the grassroots and ensure a continuous bureaucratic improvement for quality service delivery in the State through committed leadership value reorientation and  re ā€“ engineering.

The HOS charged the Change Agents to give their best in line with the motto of the programme, adding that they should not operate in isolation, but consult with the Change Ambassadors when necessary.

According to him, ā€œreform is not to satisfy any government, but the people.  For this reason all of us must be reform compliant, have mind set for reform, as a leader in your respective local governments, ensure you lead by example.ā€

Chairman of the Local Government Service Commission, Mr Femi Idris, commended the Head of Service for initiating the home grown programme, ODSIP, which he said is well embraced by the Public Service in the state.

Idris urged the workers to synergize with the government and support their ideology in order to move the state to enviable height.

The Permanent Secretary in the Commission, Mr Kehinde Ige, admonished the Change Agents to ensure they lead by example,saying their selection was based on their contributions to the service.

ā€œGive in your best always and uplift the service at your various domain,ā€ he charged.

Speaking on behalf of the Charge Agents ,Mr Arije Isaac, one of the three Change Ambassadors, described the programme as laudable and novel in the service.

Arije promised to bring all the Change Agents together from all the local governments and ensure they take the reform to the nooks and crannies of the state.
