The immediate past Special Adviser to the Governor of Imo State on Revenue Mobilisation and Capacity Development and the current Chairman of APC, Orlu Zone, Hon. High Chief Canice Moore Nwachukwu popularly called Omeogo na Orlu na Mbaise Nation, has commended the Governor of Imo State Senator Hope Uzodimma for the resurrection of local government development Areas across the 27 LGA of the state.
The former Imo State Secretary General of conference of Local Government Development Areas Coordinators,( CODACORD) who Coordinated Orlu South Local government development Area Eziachi, during Dr. Ikedi Ohakim Administration Omeogo affirmed that, this is not just good but a welcomed development hence it serve as an avenue of returning power to the people, especially the rural dwellers.
According to him, this will definitely bring good governance and government nearer to the people thereby reducing the load, the pressure and the inflow of the people from rural areas to the state capital, for one need or the other.
He further revealed that, this initiative was established by the then government of Chief Achike Udenwa, inherited by Dr. Ikedi Ohakim Comprising 44 coordinators who represented the interest of their various Areas, but discarded by Rochas Okorocha administration.
“I am happy that the people’s oriented Governor Hope Uzodimma has thought it wise to revamp it, I am happy he has made us proud and he will continue to enjoy the support of Imo people hence all his activities is for the betterment of Imo citizens” He asserted
Omeogo, recalled when the Conference of Imo State Local Government Development Areas Coordinators, (CODACORD),ably led by Barrister C.J. Ihemedu as the Chairman while him( Omeogo) was the Secretary General visited Governor Hope Uzodimma in his Omuma resident during his 7th Assembly in the red chamber, just to declare their total support for him then. We saw a man with large heart and great ambition but having enormous interest towards developing Imo, through the empowerment of the grassroots and that was when we prayed for him and told him that he was going to be Governor of Imo state some day. Now the rest is history.
“The Revamping of Imo State Development Areas , is just like His Excellency reconstructed the Chukwuma Nwaoha road, Dick Tiger road and the Federal Secretariat road that were moribund, not motorable for a very long time. Imo people will never forget in a hurry. His projects and programs are strategic and people oriented, that will always creat value in every ramifications, he added.
The Governor made this assertion when Omeogo led some political structures, CampHope Organization, which he (Omeogo), is the General Overseer), The Imo Hope for Good Governance, and The Hope Rising for Imolites, were at the Sam Mbakwe Executive Chambers, Government House, Owerri within the week, to express their continued solidarity to the Governor Hope Uzodimma their Principal.
Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodimma has reiterated his earlier promise to conduct Local Government election, saying doing so, it becomes imperative to bringing back development at the rural level by re-establishment of local government development centers.
Concluding, Omeogo said that, bringing back this particular program will trigger a lot of development to rural areas, hence the governor has the interest of the people at heart as he described Senator Hope Uzodimma as a 5 Star General in human capital development .
Our investigations has it that, this initiative is only practiced in two States, Lagos State during the time of His Excellency Bola Tinubu and Imo State. And during this period people witnessed the proximity of government to them, this program made Bola Tinubu to be celebrated because of his giant strides. Omeogo is of the opinion, that since Senator Hope Uzodimma has brought this wonderful program back , he has no doubt that the Governor will end well and his name will be written in gold and platinum, in Imo State.
