ODE YOUTH CONCERNED TO GBONYIN DEVELOPMNENT AGENDA, YOU ARE LIARS AND BEEN ECONOMICAL WITH THE TRUTH

A group known as Ode Ekiti youth concerned has said the recent statement by a group known as Gbonyin developmnent agenda that a former local government executive chairman of the area and former member of the house of representative chief Akinyede Awodumila was not the sponsor of the people’s democratic(P.D.P) in the area from time, was a blatant lie and huge falsehood, while they also faulted the claim that his tenure as executive chairman of Gbonyin local government and member of the house of representative was devoid of noticeable achievements.
Mr Ojo Olufemi, from Ode ward 2, who spoke on behalf of the group said members of the group known as Gbonyin developmnent agenda are confusionist who are blatant liars , and hirelings who are out to distort facts. Mr Ojo Olufemi said as local government executive chairman between 2004- 2007 Awodumila achievement includes, employment of over 500 youths in Gbonyin local government, construction of police headquarters in Ode Ekiti, building of lnec office in Ode Ekiti in collaboration with the federal government, construction of 10 lock up shops each in Ode, Agbado, iluomoba, ljan, lmesi respectively. Bursary was also given to over 600 students, establishment of the Gbonyin local government block industry with 5 moulding machine for take off, roads leading to farm settlements in Ode, Agbado iluomoba ljan, lmesi were opened up, purchase of 500kva generator for Oke Ametu in Aisegba, and lbedo in Ode Ekiti, the group through Olufemi said Awodumila got an award as best and outstanding executive chairmen then, to mention a few among laudable project he embarked on.

The Ode youth concerned further said in the house of representative, Awodumila embarked on various empowerment programs which includes distribution of fertilizer to Farmers, generators, drier, clippers, sewing machine among others to artisans in his constituency. The Ode concerned youth further said Awodumila distributed motorcycles to all the 32 wards chairmen in his constituency, all the 32 youth leaders and councilors were given generator. The group said Awodumila built the second phase of the council, where he met only one building on assumption of office, which he increased to seven,fenced it and put a befiting gate. The group also said it was same Awodumila that tarred the lbedo/ Oke Oniyo road which was awarded to First August construction company Ltd at the cost of #72m. Mr Ojo Olufemi further said a vehicle each was given to the road transport employee( R.T.E.A.N)the national union of road transport workers(N.U.R.T.W) and the Nigeria union of local government employee(N.U.L.G.E) on their request during Awodumilas time in the house of representative. The Ode youth concerned posited that same Hon Awodumila facilitated the construction of a 9.3 kv high tension electricity project from ljesa lsu to serve Gbonyin local government, Olufemi also said Hon Awodumila sponsored 3 students in ward 1, ( Odeyemis ward, out of which one of them is now a medical doctor, now Dr Opeyemi Akinyede, Tunde Jaiyeoba have finished his program at Rufus Giwa polytechnic Owo, likewise Bolanle Akinsola too who equally finished from Rufus Giwa polytechnic and presently pursuing her degree program in Ekiti state university,among other numerous achievement, he recorded. The Ode Ekiti youth concerned said they are aware of the fact it was Hon Awodumila that sponsored Rt Hon Tunji, Odeyemis house of assembly election then , firstly by giving him a silver colour starlet car, and even fuelling of the car was handled by him, likewise they are aware of a time the former speaker was stranded in Abuja, and had to send to Awodumila and the former house of representative member had to send a 100,000 naira to rescue him, the group queried further which manner of lovely disposition can one show to his kinsmen, more than this.

The Ode youth concerned further said the drilling of 43 boreholes contract which was awarded to Bunmi Adeyanju during Awodumilas tenure in the house of representative where he made a profit of ten million was badly executed using inferior material saying the group was amazed that most fingers Awodumila fed are now bitting him saying that has further shown the ungrateful and desperate nature of human beings.

The Ode youth concerned further challenged the sponsored group namely Gbonyin developmnent agenda to come up with the achievements of Rt Hon Tunji Odeyemi ,who was acting governor for 73 days and Bunmi Adeyanju during their stints in various positions that can be compared with that of Hon Awodumila, the group said they are even shocked that the name of Bunmi Adeyanju can be mentioned as a financier or leader of the people’s democratic party, they said a person that could go as far as doing a bad contract for his people, what else.
The group also said the claim that It was not Awodumila that has been keeping the spirit of the party alive as false,as sometimes last year all local government executives, ward chairman, and ward excos were at his residence to show appreciation to him on how he has been financing and leading the party, the former speaker Rt Hon Tunji Odeyemi feel threatened by the purported visit, that he started convincing people not to attend the gathering at Hon Akinyede Awodumilas residence.

The Ode Ekiti youth concerned said Awodumila remains a father figure who the whole area should be grateful to for his remarkable achievement.

They urged youths in Gbonyin local government and Ode Ekiti not to allow themselves to be used as tools by some selfish individuals who have not contributed to the developmnent of the area. The Ode Ekiti youth concerned submitted.
