Notorious Land Grabber Reportedly Shot And Detained By Nigerian Navy Alongside Police Escorts In Lagos

Anotorious land grabber, Saheed Mosadoluwa, also known as Ibile, has reportedly been shot and arrested by Nigerian Navy personnel in the Oko Orisan area of Epe, Lagos State, SaharaReporters has learned.
According to eyewitnesses who spoke to SaharaReporters on Friday, Ibile was shot in the leg during an exchange of gunfire with Navy personnel deployed to protect the area from land-grabbing activities.
His police escorts, who were allegedly providing cover for his illegal operations, were also overpowered and detained at the naval base.
Sources revealed that the incident occurred when Ibile and his accomplices attempted to seize land in the area. Witnesses further reported that his vehicles were damaged during the confrontation and later taken to the naval base.
A source close to Ibile claimed that he has since reached out to his police contacts, seeking the release of his escorts and attempting to avoid being paraded by the Nigerian Navy.
“Saheed Ibile went for a land-grabbing operation in Oko Orisan area of Epe of Lagos State and was shot in the leg during a crossfire with some Navy security guards,” said one of the sources.
“Ibile’s police escorts were used as cover and were overpowered during the operation and are currently detained at the base.”
“Ibile’s cars were destroyed during the gunfire and have been evacuated. He has made calls to his contact in the police force for the release of his escorts and to avoid being paraded by the Nigerian Navy,” one of the sources said.
But when SaharaReporters reached out to Commodore Aiwuyor Augustine Adams-Aliu, the Director of Naval Information and spokesperson for the Nigerian Navy, he denied that anyone was shot.
“The Nigerian Navy will continue to act in line with all constitutional provisions to thwart crimes in and around the maritime domain,” he said.
“In this instance, nobody was shot and appropriate security agencies have resolved the issue.”
In January 2024, SaharaReporters reported the arrest of Saheed Mosadoluwa, also known as Ibile, the Chairman of Harmony Garden and Estate Development Limited and Ibile Auctioneers and Recovery Limited, by the Nigeria Police Force over alleged criminal activities.
Mosadoluwa has also used multiple aliases, including Mr. Urakat Audullahi.
He was arrested in Lagos and flown to Abuja by a combined team from the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Special Tactical Squad.
According to sources, his arrest was linked to his recent acts of “terrorism” and brutal attacks on innocent residents in Lagos State.
“Ibile was arrested yesterday in Lagos and taken to Abuja by a combined team of the IGP Special Tactical Squad over his recent acts of terrorism and merciless attacks,” a source revealed.
On September 11, 2023, SaharaReporters also reported that a group of public interest lawyers under the Lawyers for Reform Group (LRG) raised concerns over Mosadoluwa’s alleged criminal activities.
The LRG had urged the IGP to launch a thorough investigation into Mosadoluwa’s reported use of police orderlies for land grabbing, brutality, and other illicit activities in Lagos State, Southwest Nigeria.
