Nigeria-British chamber appoints trade adviser

The Nigeria-British Chamber of Commerce has appointed the Deputy Vice Chancellor of the University of Kigali, Professor Ogechi Adeola, as its International Trade Adviser.

Announcing the appointment on its LinkedIn page, NBCC said Adeola comes to the role with experience spanning academics and the corporate world.

The Nigerian-British Chamber of Commerce is a bilateral chamber in Nigeria with the main objective of promoting trade and investment between Nigeria and Britain.

In her profile, NBCC said, “Professor Adeola brings invaluable experience from her consulting roles with Afreximbank, where she works on the African Sub-Sovereign Governments Network initiative, designed to strengthen collaboration among sub-sovereign governments and advance intra-African trade and investment within the framework of the African Continental Free Trade Area.

“She has also served as a National Consultant for the International Labour Organisation on women’s entrepreneurship and economic empowerment project in Nigeria, making significant contributions to policy recommendations on gender equality and inclusivity.”

Speaking on her appointment, the don said, “Thank you, Nigerian-British Chamber of Commerce for this recognition and the trust placed in me.

“I look forward to working closely with the Chamber and its members to strengthen bilateral relations and drive impactful initiatives. Together, we can achieve great milestones in promoting business growth and collaboration.”

NBCC is currently planning its 2025 Trade Mission to the United Kingdom.
