He expressed confidence in the capacity of the President to turn things around with relative speed even now that issues
appertaining to the presidential election have been laid to rest by the Supreme Court.

The Chief gave the stance while interacting with the media on Saturday in Akure, Ondo State Capital.

In his words: “We are happy that the apex court has eventually adjudicated on the controversies that arose therefrom. The judgement is an affirmation of the will of the majority of Nigerians.

“It is high time the President faced developmental issues and give attention to the nation’s growth and the well-being of the people. And I have no doubt whatsoever in my mind that the President has what it takes to turn things around for Nigerians with relative speed.”

Asonja commended the petitioners for chosing the court of law in resolving the knotty issues and, in so doing, helping to deepen the judicial process, saying: “they should do well to join hands with the president and move Nigeria forward.”

He reemphasised the need for peace and unity to endure among the youth and traditional institutions in the Niger Delta region and throughout Nigeria.
