New Nigeria Governor, Richer Than Dangote, Declared N9 Trillion in Cash and Assets DETAILS
The newly sworn-in governor of Zamfara State, Dauda Lawal, has declared his assets to the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB). Lawal declared 9 trillion in cash and in assets.
Following his assets declaration, there have been mixed reactions from Nigerians as to how he made his money. The Code of Conduct Bureau had mandated all the newly elected Governors to make their asset declaration submitted to the bureau before May 29th, 2023, when they were sworn-in.
Dauda Lawal Many citizens were surprised when it was disclosed that Governor Dauda Lawal claimed he is worth N9,000,000,000,000.00.

Forbe recent list of the richest people in the Africa Dauda Lawal was a former Executive Director at the First Bank of Nigeria Plc.
He also worked sometimes with the former Minister of Petroleum, Allison Madueke. Unfortunately, the richest person in Africa, Aliko Dangote is currently valued to worth 13.5 billion dollars by the Forbes. The next to Aliko Dangote on the Forbes list is Johann Rupert and Family who jointly worth 10.7 billion dollars.
When converted to US Dollars, Dauda Lawal’s 9 trillion naira is equivalent to about 12 billion dollars, that is supposedly second to Aliko Dangote and richer than Abdulsamad Rabiu who currently worth 7.6 billion dollars and Mike Adenuga who is currently valued to worth 6.3 billion dollars.
