It was learnt that the agency also rescued 11 underage girls suspected of being used for sexual exploitation.

The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) has sealed a popular three-star hotel in Kwali Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory over illegal activities.

It was learnt that the agency also rescued 11 underage girls suspected of being used for sexual exploitation.

The operation led to the arrest of the hotel’s owner, while other staff members managed to escape, Vincent Adekoye, NAPTIP Press Officer, said in a statement on Tuesday.

He added that the hotel is believed to be a hub for illicit activities, with trafficked minors reportedly being exploited within its premises.

“The operative of the agency has sealed up a popular Three Stars Hotel located at the ever-busy community of Kwali, Kwali Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, and rescued 11 underaged girls suspected of use for sexual expedition.

“Luck however ran on the owner of the hotel as she was arrested while other supporting staff escaped,” the statement said.

It noted that the development occurred just one month after NAPTIP operatives raided a private apartment in one of the upscale estates in central Abuja, rescuing nine pregnant girls suspected to be victims of human trafficking.
