My Father has been having sex with me since Mum’s death In 2020, 11 years old reveals
An 11-year-old girl has narrated how her father has been sleeping with her since 2011 that her mom died.
According to reports, the girl’s father, a middle-aged man identified as Mr. Okpara, has been arrested by policemen in Anambra State for allegedly committing the crime.
It was gathered that the incident occurred at Fegge, Onitsha, where the suspect and his daughter live.
The suspect was stated to be from Adazi- Enu in the state’s Anaocha Local Government Area.
Okpara’s terrible deed was revealed by a good Samaritan, who released the information that led to his arrest by Anambra State Police Command agents working in tandem with the state Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Welfare.
The victim described her father’s carnal knowledge of her since 2020, shortly after her mother’s death.
She additionally recalled how her father would force himself on her every night, despite her cries, sufferings, and pleadings, which he would always disregard.
She said that her encounter had resulted in various degrees of injury to her legs and genital organ.
The victim, who is currently limping, also disclosed that her father threatened to murder her if she ever notified anybody about what she was going through, which she claimed was the reason she had been silent since 2020 and was dying in silence.
She claims her father grew very protective of her, refusing to let other family members, acquaintances, and relatives approach her so they wouldn’t find out what was going on between them.
When questioned, the suspect, Okpara, denied all of the charges and stated that his daughter fell from the refrigerator and broke her leg, which is why she limps.
Medical findings from the hospital, on the other hand, confirmed that the 11-year-old girl had been defiled.
The suspect is currently in police custody and will be arraigned before the Children, Sexual and Gender-Based Violence Magistrate Court in Awka on Wednesday next week, according to reports.
Mrs. Ify Obinabo, Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare, has criticised the rise in child maltreatment in society.
She reaffirmed the state government’s determination to continue fighting such stupid and inhumane acts in the state.
She committed to pursuing the matter legally, stressing that the ministry is currently handling the case
