No fewer than 65 women mostly widows and the aged today benefited from the distribution of palliatives put together by My Choice Group to put smiles on the faces of the less privilege.
At the two-in-one event which took place at My Choice Group office in Akure, members also benefited from distribution of N5million loan in tranches ranging from N20,000 to N100,000 to help build businesses in the faces of economic downturn.
The founder of the Group, Princess Omowumi Olatunji- Ohwovoriole ably represented by the Matron of the Group, Pastor Mrs. Mosunmola Kayode said the programme has been on since 2004 to honour and help the less privileged.
Mrs. Kayode while commending Mrs. Olatunji- Ohwovoriole for passionately touching lives through her initiatives said the gesture is to help cushion economic challenges faced by the people most especially the widows and the aged.
The highpoint of the event is the presentation of N5,000 palliatives to 65 widows as well as the distribution of cheques ranging from N20,000 to N100,000 to members.
In a chat with journalists, Comrade Olabanji Adeluwoye , the coordinator of the Group in Ondo North Senatorial District said the annual event is a time for members across the state to come together to celebrate and also enjoy benefits as members of the group.
Comrade Adeluwoye while describing Mrs. Olatunji Ohwovoriole as a compassionate leader, commended her for her genuine passion for human capital development.
Also speaking, Comrade Friday Agoye, one of the guest while applauding the gesture by My Choice Group, urged other leaders to take a be from Mrs. Olatunji- Ohwovoriole saying she is a compassionate leader who is always striving to put smiles on the faces of the people.
