MR AIYEDATIWA; THE LAPDOG & DATA BOYS – Olasumbo Faseesin Esq
The aged long phrase, “those whom the gods would destroy, they first make mad” is apt in the circumstance. Otherwise, how could a lapdog rubbish a revered Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Chief Olusola Alexander Oke, SAN. Demanding among other gibberish, he wrote, “what aspects of Law did Olusola Alexander Oke study?”. Assuming without conceding that Chief Oke in his speech had alleged a non- existent government in Ondo State, and had purportedly stated reasons, including but not limited to obvious absence of Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu Aketi, SAN who’s deceased, and before passing, served as duly elected Governor validated through the poll with a running mate in Mr. Aiyedatiwa until the current circumstance of death paving way to impliedly Govern Ondo State through the back door, albeit it, Constitutionally.
Consequently, the clarification by Chief Olusola Alexander Oke is not far from truth. The fact remains that a Governor is presumed by Law to emerge through a valid electoral process, and not by any other means or, alternative including death save and unless exceptional circumstances as it applies with Ondo State. Chief Olusola Oke only stated the obvious in his speech informing party stakeholders of a decision and readiness to govern Ondo State.
To subject his innocuous speech into what otherwise describes a “bole ka ja” response by some unprofessional lapdogs and data-boys is not only unfortunate but also condemnable. That a boy could ask Chief Olusola Oke, SAN (a Senior lawyer) what part of Law he studied ridicules the distinct nature of our legal profession. Apart from been a senior lawyer, Chief Olusola Alexander Oke had in the past served in various capacity Including but not limited to PDP legal adviser at the National Level among other responsibilities. By the special grace of God, Chief Oke is today Senior Advocate of Nigeria with impeccable records of public and private service.
Since politics has assumed a different style in Ondo State with brash reactions, and obvious attempts to threaten lives and properties with the unusual red-beret-insignia, implying danger and apparent violent. To kill, maim and destroy! Connotatively, suggesting even more unlikely attempts at truce or, peace in the near future but a dangerous symbol that strikes palpable fear in our people who are known to enjoy peaceable coexistence and had many times thrived on the admonition of President Jonathan who remarkably noted that no ambition is worth the spilling of blood.
Unfortunately, unfolding events across the nooks & crannies of Akure, painted red in blood is suggesting violence. Not even the Presidential election was this bad in foreseeable verbal and physical attacks.
We might have to call emergency “save our souls” conference to dialogue the importance of free, fair & credible process that guarantee peaceful and harmonious electoral outcomes for the good people of Ondo State. It must be the decision of Ondo State electorates to determine who governs them devoid of coercion or, reckless misstatement and or, misrepresentation of fact. Let the world know this for a fact, “Ondo State is not the days of John the Baptist, and therefore, no violent emissaries of war will take it by force”. You can only govern Ondo State by legitimate votes without prejudice to recent development with Mr.Aiyedatiwa as Governoor.
Hence, dismissing or, diminishing the person and opinion of Chief Alexander Oke, SAN by some ill mannered lapdogs and data-boys constitute a mere nuisance value incapable of ousting the import and claim of the learned silk. In any case, do they know the price or, cost of becoming SAN? . ….I doubt very much if they understand that life transcends desperate political inclination and a sworn-to-death commitment to undo or, unmake verifiable facts and records of a man who rose to political stardom by deliberate and intentional strides.
Let the good people of Ondo State see the dangerous omen of violence and immediately tame excesses that might implode the state into political fiasco. After all, it is but a mere election but desperate insignia. Hear this, “egungun” election will come and go na wi go remain !
