Morayo Lebi Condemn Attack on Sunshine Stars Fc, Says perpetrators must face bitter consequence
The recent attack on the Ondo State owned Football Club, Sunshine Star FC of Akure by some suspected highway robbers along Benin-Ore Express Road has received series of condemnations from sports enthusiasts and fans worldwide.
The frontline All Progressive Congress, APC guber aspirant, Barrister Morayo Lebi has joined his voice to condemn in its entirety the attack on the Sushine Star Players as very unfortunate occurrence.
Lebi who took wipe on the attack as a very despicable, criminal and called on the law enforcement agents most especially the Nigeria Police to fish out the perpetrators and bring them to face the law and immediately fortified security around them.
The APC guber aspirant, Lebi an avid Sport enthusiasts sympathized with those who were wounded during the attack most especially those in critical condition as well as the Team Manager and other players who sustained various degrees of injuries.
The Director General, DG,Team Morayo Lebi 2024, Ambr. H.K Bello stated this in a Press Statement issued at Akure on Friday condemning the attack on the players who are on their way to Benin-City, Edo State for an away march against another elite club, the Insurance FC of Benin.
Lébí also promised that he has in his cardinal program to uplift and accelerate Sports development in Ondo State.
“I have in my plan a blueprint to upgrade Sunshine Star FC to a local club with international standard and through voting of higher Subvention and equipping them with both human and material resources.
The DG of Team Morayo Lebi 2024, one of the most vociferous group routing for Barr. Lebi for Ondo State Governor in 2024 called on the Ondo State Government and other Club owners to give adequate protections to the local players just like their counterparts abroad.
Saying, ” I want to call on the club owners to fortify securities around the Football Players and other athletes to forestall further attack or harassment on the local sport personalities in Nigeria by bandits and hoodlums.”
We call on all well meaning Nigerians and Sport Enthusiasts across the globe to come to the aid of the Management of the Sunshine Stars FC to give both moral and other supports that could help boost the morale and psyche of the players and strengthened securities around the players against future reoccurrences.
