Prince Al-Waleed bin Khaled bin Talal is a member of the Saudi royal family. While his family is famous in their own right, he is known across the world as ‘the sleeping prince’. However, he is unaware of his title and the world’s advancement as he has been trapped in a coma for nearly 20 years.
He has been in a coma for nearly 20 years after suffering a severe brain injury in a car accident in 2005 while studying at a military college in London. Since then, he has remained on life support at King Abdulaziz Medical City in Riyadh.
The last documented movements occurred in 2019, when he reportedly showed signs of limited awareness through small gestures, such as lifting a finger or slightly moving his head—though these moments did not indicate a return to full consciousness
