Meet Michael Boulos, Trump’s son-in-law with Nigerian roots
The billionaire heir, who proposed with a $1.2 million engagement ring, comes from a family with deep business ties spanning Africa, the U.S., and Lebanon.
Michael Boulos’ Nigerian Roots
Born in Houston, Texas, Michael Boulos is the second of four children in a wealthy Lebanese family that found fortune in Nigeria.
His father, Dr. Massad Boulos, runs the multi-billion-dollar conglomerate SCOA Nigeria PLC, with investments in construction, automobile sales, and logistics across Africa.
Michael was raised in Lagos, where he attended the prestigious American International School before moving to London for university.
Down Time
Despite their immense wealth, the Boulos family has faced heartbreaking loss. Michael’s mother, Sarah Boulos, endured the tragic deaths of seven family members in a matter of days.
In 2003, a house fire claimed two relatives, and on Christmas Day, five more—including Sarah’s mother and brother—died in a plane crash en route to Lebanon.
Dr. Massad Boulos recalled, “It was an awful tragedy for the whole family. Michael was six at the time, and in another country, but it hit everyone.”
Education and Business Acumen
Michael pursued a Bachelor of Arts in Global Business Management at Regent’s University, London, before obtaining a master’s degree in Project Management, Finance, and Risk at City, University of London.
His father confirmed his active role in the family business, stating, “He’s involved in various aspects [of the business], but currently he’s in the United States working on his own projects.”
A Life of Luxury and High-Profile Ties
Growing up in Lagos’ elite circles, Michael led a lavish lifestyle, frequenting exclusive bars and jetting to destinations like Mykonos, Cannes, and the Greek Islands.
A childhood Instagram post shows him and his brother Fares posing in their father’s Rolls Royce. Fares, an aspiring actor, has appeared briefly in The Crown and Fantastic Beasts.
Despite past controversial remarks by Donald Trump about African nations, Michael has remained supportive of his future father-in-law, often using hashtags like #KeepMakingAmericaGreat on Instagram.
A Love Story in the Spotlight
Dr. Boulos expressed his joy over the engagement, describing Tiffany as “a beautiful young woman and a very smart one, too. Michael is very lucky.”
He added, “It’s great news, it’s been an amazing love story, and it will continue to be.”
