MAXIMIZE NIGERIA’S DIGITAL PROGRAMS FOR ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT,PRESIDENTIAL AIDE APPEALS TO NIGERIAN YOUTHS

The Special Assistant to The President on Political Affairs, Hon. Gambo Manzo has Passionately appealed to the Nigerian youths to take advantage of the various Digital programs and initiatives of the federal ministry of Communication and digital economy for a sustainable economic empowerment.

Hon. Manzo revealed that there is a technological skill gap in Nigeria and only those that were ready to develop the skills could operate in those spaces, he therefore urged the Nigerian youths to embrace technological skills to remain relevant, competitive and help in addressing the high rate of unemployment in Nigeria.

Hon. Gambo Manzo made the appeal in the Federal Capital territory Abuja through his Media and Communication Assistant, Amb Timothy Nwachukwu while reacting to the news of the recent move by Equinix, one of the world’s digital infrastructure companies for the acquisition of MainOne a Nigeria founded West African data centre and connectivity solutions provider for $320M.

He further commended Dr. Isa Pantami, The Minister of Communications and Digital Economy for the construction and commissioning of Tertiary Institution Knowledge Centre, Gombe State College of Education, Digital Economy Centre, E- Learning Facilities, Nneato Secondary School, Abia State; the Emergency Communication Centre, Lokoja, Kogi; Digital Economy Centre, E- Learning University of Uyo, Akwa Ibom; School Knowledge Centre, Sanda Kyarimi Day Secondary School, Borno;Digital Economy Centre, E- Learning Eleyele Secondary School,
Oyo State and Digital Economy Centre and E- Learning Facilities, Imam Malik Academy, Sokoto State.

Hon. Gambo Manzo posited that digital technologies will be the major driver of productivity, with Nigeria’s economy depending on greater numbers of digitally skilled workers that will drive Nigeria’s digital future.

He called on the youths to maximize the various programs of the federal government and Prepare themselves for the Nigeria without oil with a total dependence on technology for solution providing.

He urged the youths to cease from waiting on while collar Job but to rather Develop their digital skills to be able to create jobs, solve problems, create wealth and contribute to the nation’s gross domestic products for a robust national economy.
