LET YOUR UNDERWEAR BE CLEAN: Pastor Olutimehin

*TEXT*
Ecclesiastes 9:8 KJV.
“Let thy garments be always white; and let thy head lack no ointment”.

*MESSAGE*
☆☆☆ Another way to look at “let thy garments be always white” will be “let thy garments be always clean”.
☆☆☆ Only when the hands and ways of a man are clean that he can see God.

“Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord? or who shall stand in his holy place”?
[4] “He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully” – Psalm 24:3-4.

☆☆☆ Still looking at the statement “let thy garments be always white”: We all agree that “white garments” stand for cleanliness.
☆☆☆ Beloved, are you aware that everyone is conscious of the garment he/she puts on!!!
☆☆☆ Nobody will want to wear a stained or dirty garment to a function where other dignitaries are present.

☆☆☆ Let us assume you are attending a function and there is a stain on your white garment which you were not aware of before you left home, somebody will have to draw your attention to this stain before you will notice.
☆☆☆ You will agree with me that you can never be comfortable throughout your stay in that function.

☆☆☆ This is an outward garment that everybody can see.
☆☆☆ Beloved, people are more likely to access what you put on better than you do.
☆☆☆ What you think is perfect on you may have other deficiencies not known to you but which others can see.

■ ■ ■ Beloved, have you ever thought of something:
☆☆☆ That there are other garments we put on which are not seen by people.
☆☆☆ We call these garments our “under wears” or “inner wears”.
☆☆☆ Do you know that some people pay more attention to the garment seen by others (outward) and pay less attention to the one under!!!

☆☆☆ Somebody may not be too comfortable wearing the same garment to church for two consecutive Sunday services.
☆☆☆ This same fellow can wear the same “under wear” or “inner wear” for a week without bordering even to watch them.

■ ■ ■ My point for today:
“Let thy garments always be white” is actually referring to those thoughts you conceal in your heart that no man can see.
☆☆☆ For example, when you say to somebody, “God bless you”, is that prayer really from your heart?

☆☆☆ When you are invited, as a witness, to say all you know about a case, is all you have said are all you know about that case?
☆☆☆ Have you actually said all the truth you know about that case at hand?

☆☆☆ When your brother offends you and he comes back to say sorry, when you tell him, “it’s all over, I have forgiven you”; have you actually forgiven him?

☆☆☆ When you give a counsel or a piece of advice to somebody, to the best of your knowledge, will that counsel help or destroy him?

☆☆☆ Every unclean garment that is not visible to man, is visible to God and destroys the “ointment”.

☆☆☆ This “ointment” may be the anointing of God upon an individual or the blessings being awaited.

☆☆☆ This is why our garments should be continually washed in the blood of the Lamb.

☆☆☆ Beloved, wash those hidden thoughts of yours and ways of life which represent your “under wears” or “inner wears” constantly in the blood of the Lamb.

■ ■ ■ For the bible says 👇

“And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb” – Revelation 7:14.

☆☆☆ The best way to be constantly washed in the blood of the Lamb is by daily looking into the word of God.

☆☆☆ Again the scripture says 👇

“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth” – 2 Timothy 2:15.

☆☆☆ The Psalmist said 👇

“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path”
[130] “The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple” – Psalm 119:105,130.
