LASUTH performs eye surgery on Lagos health commissioner∗

The Lagos State Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi, has successfully undergone eye surgery at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital in Ikeja.

Abayomi took to his official X account on Friday to announce the successful procedure.

He expressed his excitement, writing, “Thrilled to share that I just had a successful eye surgery @LASUTH, Ikeja.”

The commissioner extended his gratitude to the medical team that attended to him, particularly the oculoplastic surgeons in the hospital’s Eye Department identified as Prof. Mrs. Bola Adekoya and Dr. Rosemay Ngwu.

He praised their expertise in ensuring a smooth and painless procedure.

Abayomi also acknowledged the exceptional nursing care provided by Apex Nurse Adejoke Okeowo, commending her for her compassionate and professional approach.

In his post, the commissioner further thanked Prof. Adebowale O. Adekoya, Director of Clinical Services and Training at LASUTH, for his leadership in guiding the medical team.

He also expressed his appreciation to the Chief Medical Director of LASUTH, Prof. Adetokunbo O. Fabanwo, for his continued efforts in steering the hospital towards excellence in healthcare.

“I am truly grateful to all the dedicated staff at LASUTH for their outstanding services,” Abayomi concluded in his message.
