Lagos, Kano lead as 87.2m voters collect PVCs [see breakdown]
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has said a total of 87,209,007 permanent voter cards (PVCs) have been collected by eligible registrants for this year’s general elections.
Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, INEC Chairman, disclosed this at the daily briefing of the commission held at the national collation centre in Abuja.
He said the uncollected PVCs as of 5th February, 2023, stood at 6,259,229.
Leading the pack for the number of PVCs collected is Lagos State with 6,214,970. Kano followed with 5,594,193; Kaduna came third with 4,164,473; followed by Katsina having 3,459,945; and Rivers coming fifth on 3,285,785 PVCs collected as at 5th February 2023.
While 1,476,451 registrants collected their PVCs in the FCT, Ekiti State recorded the least PVCs collected with 958,052.
Total national registered voters stood at 93,469,008.
Also, the percentage of PVCs collected was 93.3 per cent, while uncollected PVCs was 6.7 per cent.
