Labbadia Not The Best We Can Get For Super Eagles – Ajidagba

A sports analyst, Seun Ajidagba, has expressed his disappointment with the appointment of Bruno Labbadia as the head coach of the Super Eagles by the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF).
Ajidagba, who was a guest on Channels Television’s breakfast programme, The Morning Brief on Wednesday, said the German coach is not the best for the senior national team.
“When the desirable is not available, the available becomes desirable. Definitely, this is not the best we can get, and I say it with all sense of responsibility, we always have a way of doing our things that leaves question mark to whatever decision that we make,” Ajidagba said.
“Exactly 73 days when Finidi George dropped that letter of resignation, we just woke up to appoint Bruno Labbadia. He came out of the blues because he was not part of those that the technical committee were talking to.
“There were names that were bandied, names like Janne Andersson of Sweden, Herve Renard, Aito Karanka, Gustavo Puyet and you begin to wonder how this name suddenly popped up.”
The sports analyst said the possible explanation for the choice of Labbadia by the NFF is that he may be the cheapest available for the job. He said that the win ration of the German is far from impressive.
The NFF on Tuesday announced that it has agreed with German tactician, Bruno Labbadia, to become the Head Coach of Nigeria’s Senior Men’s National Team, Super Eagles.
Born in Darmstadt, Germany on 8th February 1966, Labbadia, won two caps for the German national team in his playing career that took him through clubs such as home-town team Darmstadt 98, Hamburger SV, FC Kaiserslautern, Bayern Munich, FC Cologne, Werder Bremen, Armenia Bielefeld and Karlsruher SC. He triumphed in the German Bundesliga with Bayern Munich as a player in 1994.
He coached famous teams like Hertha Berlin and VfB Stuttgart this decade, and previously, VfL Wolfsburg, Hamburger SV, and Bayer Leverkusen, among others, and holds a UEFA Pro License.
