Kachallah Bugaje, Notorious Bandit Kingpin ‘Renounces’ Crime, Cites Prophet Muhammad’s Teachings
The notorious bandit leader stated that he now fears his Creator, Allah, who made him, and the day he will meet his Maker.
Anotorious wanted bandit leader, formerly known as Kachallah Bugaje, has publicly renounced banditry and pledged to abandon criminal activities along with his fighters for the sake of Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W).
In a video posted on social media by security analyst and counter-insurgency expert in the Lake Chad region, Zagazola Makama, on Friday, Kachallah was seen speaking in Hausa while surrounded by his gang members, who were holding weapons and a rosary as they sought blessings for the Prophet.
He affirmed that he has permanently stopped banditry and kidnapping by the grace of Prophet Muhammad. Swearing by Almighty Allah, he declared, “Wallahi-Tallahi,” as a solemn oath.
The notorious bandit leader stated that he now fears his Creator, Allah, who made him, and the day he will meet his Maker.
He emphasised that he fears no one but Allah.
In the video, Kachallah also claimed to have released 50 kidnapped victims under his control.
He stressed that he did this not because he was forced to, but out of fear of the consequences he may face in the hereafter and what he would have to tell his Creator on the Day of Judgment.
He added that he fears the wrath and torment of Allah, which led him to follow the teachings of Prophet Muhammad.
He expressed uncertainty about how he would answer to Allah for his past deeds if he were to die.
Kachallah further stated that he and his fighters are lovers of Prophet Muhammad and explained that the prophet did not support stealing or kidnapping. Therefore, they have chosen to follow his teachings.

He revealed that despite initially demanding ransoms of N15 million, N10 million, and N25 million from the families of the kidnapped victims, they ultimately released all 50 captives without collecting any ransom, solely out of their love and reverence for Prophet Muhammad.
He said, “I declare that I have stopped engaging in banditry from now until eternity, by the grace of Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W). I swear by Almighty Allah—Wallahi Tallahi—that I have truly abandoned this path.
“I fear my Creator, Allah, who brought me into existence, and I fear the day I will stand before Him. I am not afraid of anyone except Allah.
“I have released 50 people who were kidnapped under my command. I did this not because someone instructed me to but out of fear of what awaits me in the hereafter. When I die, I do not know what I will say to my Creator about my deeds.
“I fear the wrath of Allah, and I follow the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). I do not want to face divine punishment, so I have repented, hoping that when I die, I will not have to account for such sins before my Lord.
“We are followers of Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W), and he did not support theft or kidnapping. Therefore, we have chosen to follow his teachings,” he stated.
According to Kachallah, “Regarding the 50 people we kidnapped, we initially demanded ransoms—some N15 million, others N10 million, and some N25 million. However, out of the fear of Allah, we have released them without taking any ransom. We did this because of our love for Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W).
“As you can see, my group members are in good condition, and they have accepted to turn over a new leaf and follow the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W).”
“May Allah continue to bless our beloved Prophet, Anabi Muhammad (S.A.W),” Kachallah added.
