Hunters have arrested two retired soldiers and two others after robbing a iron steel company in Osogbo, capital of Osun State.

It was learnt that men of Nigerian Hunters and Forest Security Services apprehended them with a gun and two vehicles loaded with irons they stole at steel rolling premises.

A top security source said: “Two of the suspects are retired soldiers. They have access to the compound and they worked with two other suspects, who were believed to be buyers of the stolen items.

The two suspects that had access to the premises, were the ones, armed with weapons that stole irons and planned selling it to the other suspects.

“They have evacuated the stolen iron to about six 6 kilometers away from the premises of the company to an uncompleted building in Alabameta Area, Osogbo where they were arrested by hunters and handed over to police,” the source added.

When contacted, the spokesperson of Osun State Police Command, Yemisi Opalola confirmed the incident.

She said: “Our men arrested them and investigation is ongoing. I can’t say who they are yet. But we won’t allow criminals hide in any part of the State.” (The Nation)
