Just In : Three Amotekun operatives !njured after gn duel with armed hrdsmen
Three personnel of Amotekun corps in Osun sustained injuries after engaging in gun battle with herdsmen in the state.
It was gathered that some farmers in Kajola village, Atakumosa-West local government area of the state reported activities of herdsmen destroying their farm produce to feed their herds of cattles
An eye witness in the village, Adio John disclosed that the herdsmen on sighting Amotekun operatives became agitated and were battle ready
Efforts by the corps operatives to arrest the herdsmen resulted into a gun duel, leading to injury from both sides.
When contacted, the Corp Commander, Osun Amotekun, Brugadier-General Bashir Adewinbi, confirmed that three of its operatives were injured during gun battles with the herders.
His words, “Our men went to Kajola village to settle rift between farmers and herders but when they got there, the herders attacked them and shot at them, our men had no other option than to shoot back at them.
“The Police were involved in the matter. We arrested one of them but we later released him. Those wounded are better now.”
