In advance of the 2023 general elections, some New Nigeria Peoples Party candidates running for seats in the Osun State House of Assembly have announced intentions to host a massive rally in favour of Bola Tinubu, the APC’s presidential candidate.

In a statement he signed on behalf of eight other NNPP House of Assembly candidates and obtained in Osogbo on Monday, Muideen Afolabi, the party’s candidate for the Ifelodun State Constituency, revealed the plot.

Afolabi bemoaned that with less than two months until the 2023 elections, the NNPP had not been organising a campaign for the party’s presidential candidate, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, or other candidates running in the state. He added that those organising Tinubu’s rally in the state had also started a door-to-door campaign for him.

He continued, “in collaboration with other National Assembly candidates who earlier dumped Kwankwaso, nine of us, House of Assembly candidates are set to organize a mega rally for Tinubu where masses of Osun would be convinced on why they should support him.

“Less than 2 months to the 2023 polls, NNPP has not been campaigning for the presidential candidate of the party, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso and other candidates contesting the poll in Osun. We can’t wait any longer.

“We commend Secretary, Tinubu/Shetimma Presidential Campaign Council, Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, for always giving them listening ears and for embarrassing us, having discovered our ability to deliver Osun for Tinubu.”
