The Rivers State House of Assembly Speaker, Rt. Hon. Barr. Edison Ogerenye Ehie has formally informed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of the 25 vacant seats in the State House of Assembly. According to confirmed reports obtained by our heritage reporter , INEC has duly received the letter from the Assembly Speaker, indicating the existence of these 25 vacant seats in the State House of Assembly.
27 lawmakers loyal to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, dumped the party for the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Monday. However, two lawmakers had since returned to the PDP. The notification, our heritage reporter understands is as result of the vacant seats created by Rt. Hon. Martin Amaewhule and 24 others following their defection to PDP. INEC has received the letter.
