The erstwhile PDP Local Government Youth Leader and a renowned cow dealer in Owo LGA, Prince Olajide Bolanle has formerly returned to the PDP today after his political sabatical.
As the political atmosphere in Nigeria just like in Ondo State is becoming charged with declaration of aspirations and beehive of activities, the situation in Owo LGA area especially Ehin-Ogbe Ward (I) is not different as political gladiators and grassroots mobilizers are now returning en-masse into the umbrella party despite the fact that HE, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu, the incumbent governor is one of the illustrious sons of the soil as APC member in the LGA.
Just last week , Hon. Niran Onishile,a former Special Assistant in the state; Hon. Ayo Arowole , the Deputy Speaker of the 8th State Assembly, and hosts of othernpolitical heavy weights decamped into the PDP from Z-Labour Party and APC principally. The gale of such defection continued today Saturday as Prince Olajide Bolanle , a former Youth Leader of the PDP under Alh. Kehinde Lawal officially picked his PDP membership card in his political wards in Ehin-Ogbe Ward of Owo LGA.
While announcing officially Jide’s return, Hon. Ojo Bolanle Alayamesan ,a former councillor and the incumbent chairman of the ward assured all returnees of a level plain ground. He reiterated the fact that in PDP there is room enough for all. Ojo equally appealed to all that efforts must be sustained to return the PDP to the corridors of power via collective struggle. He submitted summarily that there is nothing to share in zero.
Prince Olajide Bolanle appreciated the party hierarchy for his warmed reception. He declared that he has returned as he only stepped aside before but didn’t decamped officially to join any political party while he was not with the PDP. According to him,” PDP is my party. I have never lost touch with the leadership of the party. Ask Faboo, Bro. Fatai Adams or Brother Jegede in state. We are doing our bidding as situations demand. I was once my Ward Youth Leader before I became Youth Leader ,PDP Owo Local Government; my brother( Boboye) here was one of us in Executive Committee as Treasurer.”
“I have come back fully now with my people. They are here as you have seen them. Please, help us to further reach out to other old members to return while talking to new ones to join. We cannot win alone except we close ranks.” He then told the PDP leadership under Alayamesan and Asaba to look for a befitting Party Secretariat for Ehin-Ogbe Ward as he pledged to pay two year rents upfront.
On the ambition of his uncle, Prince Rotimi Ibidapo , Jide pleaded,” Please, I will need your support for the senatorial aspiration of my uncle and boss , Prince Rotimi Ibidapo Bassey – The Atuluse of Owo kingdom. He is a man of uncommon influence.You know him. Quote me anywhere, his senatorial ambition shall be more in performance and impact than that of the governor especially in Ondo North Senatorial District. ”
He stressed further, ” Money is not everything. Money cannot mobilize itself. Please key in into the project. We must rescue Nigeria , our state and our district from the misrule of the ruling APC . If you all support this laudable project ,the job shall be made easier.”
The chairman of the PDP in Owo LGA, High Ch. Okeowo Idris Olafimihan Asaba appreciated Prince Jide Bolanle for his great decision ,and further call for serious efforts from him to woo more runaways and freshers to the party. While also commending the stakeholders in the PDP in the ward for their yeoman’s job,Asaba went further to explain that Prince Ibidapo has expressed his intention to run for Senate but that PDP members are watching beyond the LGA whether his aspiration shall been keenly pursued contrarily to the notion that he does not always show commitment to aspirations. However, he strongly maintained that Bassey is fully with the PDP as demonstrated by this defection so massive and his recent visit to the Local Government Executive Committee and Ward Chairmen.
At the Ogwaluwa Junction ,Ehin-Ogbe where the official defection took place, many PDP stakeholders were on ground like Ehin-Ogbe Ward Executive members led by Hon. Ojo Bolanle Alayamesan; former chairmen in the ward: Mr Victor Adedeji – a returnee, Mr Tunde Opolo , Alh. Ojo . Others were the Secretary ,PDP Elders Council ,Owo and fmr Caretaker Chairman , Hon. Ojo Filani; Ondo North Senatorial Youth leader, Hon. Nasirudeen Boboye Ijawoye; Hon. Adeyeri Samuel-Assami ,an aspirant for MHA/ Lg Youth Leader; Hon. Osennuwa Olagoke- former Supervisor and now LG Ex-Officio; Akogun Niyi Folahanmi- PDP Publicity Secretary/ Owo LGA Coordinator, PDP National Youth Network; Hon. Kehinde Ogunmolawa- Vice-Chairman, Iloro Ward 8; Comr Dotun Daniel Ogunbodede- Youth Leader, Ijebu 1 Ward 5; and host of others too numerous to mention and many returnees/decampees .
