JUST IN: Peter Obi’s Campaign Coordinator Dumps Labour Party, Gives Reason (DETAILS)
Mr. Alagoa Morris, the Bayelsa Coordinator of Peter Obi Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), has switched allegiance from the Labour Party (LP) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
An Environmental Rights Activist, Morris revealed his decision on Thursday in Yenagoa, just ahead of the Bayelsa Governorship Election scheduled for November 11.
In his announcement, he highlighted the commendable achievements of Governor Duoye Diri, many of which haven’t gained widespread attention. This has motivated his complete endorsement of Diri’s bid for re-election to sustain his impactful governance.
Morris expressed, “I’ve chosen to back the incumbent governor due to his outstanding qualities among the primary contenders. When assessing the available candidates for the upcoming November 11 election, Diri stands out as the deserving candidate.”
He clarified his background, stating, “I wasn’t originally a member of the Labour Party; I assumed the role of state coordinator temporarily, and that responsibility has concluded. Life moves on.”
Speaking about his rationale, Morris emphasized, “Having interacted with Gov. Douye Diri, I believe he’s the right person to support. He’s already working in collaboration with development partners and other stakeholders. In light of the state’s financial constraints, it’s prudent to allow him to continue.”
Morris commended Diri for unpublicized accomplishments and contributions, asserting, “Diri’s efforts have gone beyond what’s widely known. He’s demonstrated diligence, and therefore, we must rally behind him to maintain his progress.”
