Just In : New Face Takes Over APC NWC Amid Reports Of Adamu’s Resignation
Senator Abubakar Kyari, the Deputy National Chairman (North) of the All Progressives Party (APC), has assumed control of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the ruling party.
This development confirms the widely reported resignation of Senator Abdullahi Adamu, the National Chairman, over the weekend. Alongside Senator Adamu, the National Secretary, Senator Iyiola Omisore, also reportedly tendered his resignation
On Monday, around 10:40 am, Senator Kyari led a team of seven other NWC members to a meeting in his office. The official car of the Deputy National Chairman was parked in the designated slot for the National Chairman.
At approximately 11:20 am, Senator Iyiola Omisore, the National Secretary, arrived at the party secretariat and joined the meeting.
The NWC members present at the meeting included Deputy National Chairman (South) Emma Enukwu, National Vice Chairman (North West) Salihu Lukman, National Vice Chairman (North East) Salihu Mustapha, National Vice Chairman (North Central) Muazu Bawa, National Vice Chairman (South West) Issacs Kekemeke, National Vice Chairman (South East) Ejoroma Arodiogu, and Deputy National Secretary Barrister Festus Fuanter.
Security measures have been intensified around the national secretariat, with checks conducted on vehicles entering Blantyre Street, where the party headquarters is located. Passers-by are also subject to questioning by security personnel
