Most wanted Woman in Italy arrested by Police in Nigerian, flown to Rome
A 48-year-old woman, Joy Jeff, described as one of the few women on Italy’s most-wanted list, has been arrested after being on the run since 2010
The woman was reportedly arrested in Abuja and flown back to Rome, Italy, where she has been sentenced to 13 years in prison.
Italian police on Wednesday said the woman has been accused of running a prostitution ring.
They said she has been playing a major role in trafficking women to Italy, Spain and the Netherlands.
The police said her victims narrated how they were forced into prostitution by violence and threats.
It will be recalled that the woman was initially arrested in June, 2022 and extradited to Nigeria after an international treaty was facilitated and signed by both countries in 2020.
