Just In : LCDA Chairman Announces two days off per week for Council Staff
In response to the significant challenges brought about by the removal of subsidies, Hon. Samson Folorunso Olatunde (SAMOLA), the Executive Chairman of Olorunda Local Council Development Area, has taken a compassionate step towards mitigating the impact on the council’s workforce. Commencing from the 7th of August, 2023, every council staff member will be entitled to two days off per week.
Acknowledging the significance of sustaining administrative activities, the Council Chairman has directed Council Management Staff, including the Council Manager, Treasurer, and all Heads of Departments (HODs), to devise rosters immediately. The implementation will utilize alternation to ensure that despite the workforce enjoying two days off, productivity in administrative functions will remain uninterrupted.
Hon. Samson Folorunso Olatunde, well-known for his unwavering commitment to the welfare of his constituents and council workforce, has taken this initial step in response to the urgency of providing palliative measures, especially as the rise in the price of fuel has led to a constant rise in the cost of transportation. The two-day off policy aims to grant the council staff some respite from the adverse effects of the subsidy removal, particularly in navigating the prevailing economic challenges.
