Israeli Energy Minister Israel Katz declared on Thursday that his country would not permit essential resources or humanitarian aid to enter Gaza until Hamas releases the individuals it abducted during its unexpected weekend attack.
“Humanitarian aid to Gaza? No electric switch will be turned on, no water tap will be opened and no fuel truck will enter until the Israeli abductees are returned home,” he said in a state
During the Saturday attack, approximately 150 Israelis, along with foreigners and dual nationals, were taken captive by Hamas militants and transported to the Gaza Strip. This assault claimed the lives of over 1,200 individuals in Israeli towns and communities near the enclave.
In response, Israel initiated a devastating air campaign against Hamas militants in the besieged Gaza Strip, resulting in the deaths of roughly 1,200 people.
In recent developments, Israel declared a comprehensive blockade on Gaza, severing water, fuel, and electricity supplies. Consequently, the Palestinian territory’s only power plant ceased operations on Wednesday due to fuel depletion.
