Just In : Governor Soludo Re-instates Suspended Anambra Monarch

Governor of Anambra State Chukwuma Soludo has reinstated a traditional ruler who was suspended in the state for conferring chieftaincy title on a senator of the Federal Republic.

This was contain in a release signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor Christian Aburime,, as part of the resolutions reached at the meeting Governor SOLUDO had with the state Council of traditional Rulers in Awka.

Damian Ezeani, the traditional ruler of the Neni Community had, during the Yuletide, conferred the chieftaincy title of Neni on Ifeanyi Ubah, the senator representing Anambra South District of the National Assembly.

This event happened after the chairman , Anambra State Traditional rulers council and Traditional ruler of Onitsha Kingdom.

Igwe Alfred Nnemeka Achebe mediated, requesting the suspension of the traditional ruler be reversed.

The Governor was reported to have suspended the traditional ruler for conferring the chieftaincy title on the senator without authorisation from the state government and traditional ruler of the senatorā€™s community, as required by law.

While Mr Ezeani apologised for his action, the senator slammed the governor for suspending the monarch.

The statement disclosed that Governor Soludo has accepted the apologies of the suspended traditional ruler and subsequently reinstated him as the traditional ruler of Neni community.

Governor Soludo also forgave the Traditional rulers of Ojoto and Aguluezechukwu and further clarified the legal status of Igwe Nawfia as advised by his legal team.
