Just In : Governor Chief Of Staff Escape Death As Suspected Gunmen Attack His Convoy
Some unidentified gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have attacked the convoy of Governor Ben Ayade Chief of Staff,Martin Orim along Calabar-Biase- Ugep Highway on Sunday.
The Akampa- Biase -Ugep axis of the highway has become a hotspot for kidnapping activities with vehicles often attacked by the hoodlums.
Orim was said to be coming from obudu to Calabar after he attended an official function, when his convoy was attacked by the hoodlums.
Orim who confirmed the incident to the newsmen said ,everyone escaped the attacked unhurt, aside some of the convoy vehicles that were torched by their bullets.
The attack on Orim was the second in high profile case in the last two weeks after the convoy of the Governorship candidate of the Peoples Redemption Party and former minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Usani Usani was attacked around the same area.
Police sources said the Security operatives have deployed team of tactical operstions to the erea.
