Just In : Government Creates New Ministry To Tackle Insecurity (DETAILS)
Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has established the State Executive Council, consisting of 23 commissioners and one Special Adviser.
During the inauguration ceremony at the Government House in Uyo on Thursday, the Governor charged the new exco members with the responsibility of implementing the ARISE Agenda, which aims to boost the rural economy.
Governor Eno urged the appointees to embrace the new phase of the administration and work towards improving the economic conditions of their communities.
He stressed that the A.R.I.S.E. Agenda blueprint focuses on integrating and developing rural areas significantly.
The Governor emphasized the importance of stimulating rural development in their respective wards and local government councils.
He urged the appointees to engage with the people in their areas regularly and ensure that they experience the positive impact of governance.
He also announced the creation of the Ministry of Internal and Waterway Security, with a focus on enhancing security for the citizens and investors. The new ministry has been tasked with profiling various security groups in the state to harmonize their operations and objectives.
