Just In : Driver shot dead as gunmen attack PDP candidate’s convoy
Reports just emerged that the convoy of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Enugu North/South Federal Constituency, Oforchukwu Egbo, has been attacked.
According to The PUNCH, the convoy was attacked on Wednesday by some unknown gunmen during a campaign rally at Eke-Otu in Amechi Awkunanaw, Enugu South Local Government Area of the state.
The hoodlums killed the driver of one of the buses in the convoy and burnt his corpse with the vehicle.
It will be recalled that some gunmen had also attacked and killed the Labour Party senatorial candidate for Enugu East senatorial district, Mr Oyibo Chukwu, with five of his supporters in Amechi on Wednesday evening.
As of press time, the State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, was yet to issue an official confirmation of the attack as he could not be reached for comments.
