In a statement jointly issued and signed by the National President, Pastor Ifeanyi Odili, and the Ondo State Chairman, Toba Taiwo, the CD addressed several issues, including the absence of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, allegations of financial fraud within various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) in Ondo State, and the purported falsification of the governor’s signature.

The CD emphasized its readiness not only to initiate EFCC investigations against any EXCO member engaged in the diversion of state funds but also to subject such individuals to public humiliation.

The statement further cautioned against politicizing the governor’s health, urging politicians to refrain from exploiting such matters for personal gain. The CD emphasized the importance of providing support and prayers for the governor’s recovery rather than engaging in actions that could harm his character.

The CD also urged stakeholders to adhere to the agreed-upon status quo, as discussed recently at the Presidential Villa, with the governor continuing in his role while the Deputy Governor, Mr. Lucky Ayedatiwa, performs his duties.

Addressing the Ondo State House of Assembly, the CD called for clear goals and appropriate actions in addressing state matters. It appealed to all indigenes of the state to join in prayers for the swift recovery of the governor. The statement concluded by urging members of the State Executive Council to maintain unity during the governor’s absence.
