Just In : Atiku sets condition to “drop” case against Tinubu’s academic records
At a press conference held on Thursday in Abuja, Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 election, has laid out his condition for “dropping” the case against President Bola Tinubu’s academic records.
Abubakar firmly stated that he will only consider withdrawing the case after the supreme court delivers its verdict.
Abubakar’s stance comes amid growing controversy surrounding the authenticity of President Tinubu’s educational qualifications.
The dispute has become a focal point in the political landscape, with Abubakar seeking to establish the veracity of Tinubu’s certificate.
During the press conference, Atiku Abubakar also extended an invitation to Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), and Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) to join him in this effort to scrutinise Tinubu’s academic credentials.
This move by Atiku Abubakar further intensifies the already heated political atmosphere in Nigeria as the 2023 elections draw nearer. With the supreme court’s verdict as the pivot point, the nation awaits the unfolding developments in this high-stakes case that has significant implications for the upcoming election.
