Just In : 26-year-old emerges as state Assembly speaker
The 7th Nasarawa State House of Assembly (NSHA) has been inaugurated with Hon. Ogah Ogazi of Kokona East Constituency as Speaker in accordance with the proclamation issued by the Governor.
The inaugural sitting had in attendance 13 out of the 24-Members, forming a simple majority for the exercise.
Similarly, 26-year-old Mohammed Oyanki (PDP, Doma North) emerged as the Deputy Speaker of the 7th Assembly, attracting jubilation from youths across the State who had over the years yearn for inclusiveness in the running of state’s affairs.
Governor Sule had few days issued proclamation and announced Tuesday June 6th, 2023 for the inauguration of the 7th Assembly.
11-Members who had boycotted the inauguration held sitting outside the Assembly complex and elected factional Speaker and Deputy Speaker.
