Iyabo Ojo Slams Naira Marley For Leaking Private Messages
Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has fired back at Nigerian singer Azeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, after he shared their old private chats in a series of posts on his Instastory
In the leaked chats, Iyabo had invited Naira Marley to some of her events, including her late mother’s remembrance party, and had also sought his assistance in supporting her adopted son’s music career. However, the singer did not provide any explanation for making the old conversations public.
Reacting via her Instagram page, Iyabo Ojo clarified that her issue with Naira Marley has nothing to do with their past interactions but rather his failure to speak out against the alleged bullying of his former signee, Mohbad.
The actress further stated that she is aware of other disturbing allegations surrounding Mohbad’s death that involve Naira Marley and will not hesitate to address them in court if necessary.
Iyabo Ojo explained that as a TikTok influencer, she has helped several artists promote their music, including Naira Marley, and has also assisted many up-and-coming musicians by allowing them to use her lounge for shows and connecting them with producers.
She emphasized that her willingness to support artists does not mean she will stay silent in the face of injustice.
“Naira Marley recently shared our old chats, and I want to set the record straight.
“As someone who has always supported emerging artists, I have promoted many musicians, including Naira Marley. In 2020, I promoted his song after his team reached out to me through my son Festus. I also invited him to my movie premiere and my mother’s burial ceremony.
“I have helped young artists in various ways, from promoting their songs on TikTok to introducing them to industry contacts, including Naira Marley. For example, Fabian was signed to Naira Marley’s label but left due to personal reasons, while my nephew’s music style didn’t align with his label.
“However, when videos and petitions surfaced alleging that Sam Larry, Naira Marley’s close associate, had bullied Mohbad, a young artist who tragically lost his life, I questioned why Naira Marley remained silent. I never accused him of killing Mohbad, but the evidence suggests Mohbad was under serious threats.
“My issue with Naira Marley is his failure to intervene when Mohbad was being harassed. Additionally, I am aware of other allegations against him, which I will not hesitate to address in court if necessary.
“I refuse to ignore injustice, regardless of past relationships. I communicate with many celebrities via DM, but that will never stop me from speaking out against wrongdoing. Naira Marley, if you expected me to stay silent, you were mistaken.”
