Ivo Local government Boss Charges Ohanaeze Ndigbo to Imbibe Cultural heritage and seek full observance of Federal Character principles for the Region
The apex sociocultural organization of Igbo nation, “Ohanaeze Ndigbo” Ebonyi State chapter led by Dr Peter Mbam, tour down to ivo LGA for a familiarisation and introduction of its members at the local level to the council chairman, a strategy initiated by the organisation to establish and stabilise the cultural status quo of Ndigbo both in diaspora and to activate the attitudinal change of Igbo cultural heritage to the younger generation.
Igbo, known for it enterprises, adventurous and cultural practices cut across the nation, needs in no distance time to accentuate the idea of remitting home their investments in order to develop their home soil, establish large scale businesses in their country of provenance as a means of securing future safety and greatness for the region.
The executive Chairman, Hon. Chief Emmanuel Ajah (Confirm) was quick to commend their committed efforts so far, and struck a task on all the Igbo leaders worldwide to initiate a programme of peace and serenity in the region, as “Peace is a Penance for Developments” in all region, noting the various hardship, criminality and social vices seen in South East region contributed to absence of peace and oneness of ndi Igbo, he buttressed the need for immediate action of Igbo leaders to carry this course.
Furthermore, the youngest humanitarian in Ebonyi State, the executive chairman, thump up his addresses in emotion by noting events in the “Polity of the Nation” and why Igbo leaders must speak up in unison especially in the area of Federal character principles as an egalitarian system of government, in other words, it is in the knowledge of every patriotic Nigerians that Southeastern region among the six geo-political region of the federation has been disenfranchised of many vantage positions in observance of principles of egalitarianism and the igbos must restrategize to end this menace in the polity of our great nation.
In brief, the chairman enumerated parts of his mandate achieved in less than eight(8) months in office as the Executive Chairman of Ivo local government area, many of this public prioritise projects took his predecessors periods of their tenures yet remained incomplete, through the divine grace of God and out of his will heart to deliver effective results to ivo local government area and help the poorest of the poor, he has done more in area of security, employments, empowerments, educational growth, agricultural implementation, infrastructural developments, humanitarian services, constant payments of minimum wages and full delivery of basic amenities.
It was a worthwhile event that attracted the presence of traditional rulers and their chief’s, Community Chairmen, President General’s of communities, political office holders and other stakeholders.
