I’ve lost a valued friend, Buhari mourns Yohanna Dalyop
Former President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed deep sorrow over the death of an energy expert, Da Yohanna Dalyop, describing him as a valued friend and an exceptional intellectual.
“With the demise of Yohanna Dalyop, I have lost a valued friend, whom I have had the honour of knowing for decades. His insight on issues and nuanced understanding of matters, especially energy, had very few parallels,” Buhari said in a statement on Thursday.
The former President praised Dalyop’s contributions to alternative energy research, noting his dedication to developing sustainable energy solutions for homes and institutions in Nigeria.
“Yohanna dedicated much of his energy and time to the research and development of alternative energy sources,” Buhari added.
Joining the family, friends, and professional colleagues of the late pastor and engineer in mourning, Buhari also extended his condolences to the government and people of Plateau State.
“He was a great statesman and a towering intellectual. His passing away is very saddening,” Buhari said.
