In avoidance of doubt, no member of the communities can deny the heated tensions encountered in Akaeze and Ishiagu Community extraction of ivo local government council especially in 2021 and parts of 2022, the encumbrance of criminals activities, Kidnappers and banditry hit the brim as Business Men and Women, notable men of the communities, and other major stakeholders preferred renting apartments for their families outside the council to caution the escapades of this evil bandits terrorising the communities as they are the main target.
It is a deadly scenario no one would like to reflect, the hardship, loss of goods and properties worth millions in bid to pay unplanned ransome becomes the order of the day, more breaking than economic downplay, plying through Ishiagu-Agwu junction Akaeze road-mile 2 and Okigwe precisely becomes a odyssey of a survival, fears gripped people to go farm thereby causing serious hunger across communities as a result of insecurities.
Abridgly, when Hon. Chief Ajah Emmanuel Ogbonna emerged as the council chairman, as an agile young man who has a penchant for good security and crime-free psyche, having served as the youths president of Ishiagu Community Development Union federated ICDU and has beckons certain good tracks record of service in security network, couldn’t endear such insecurities especially now he is the council chairman.
The banditry, Fulani herdsmen encroachment, kidnapping and heinous criminal activities becomes things of the past, as the good people of Ivo local government area witnessed dedicated service of security network across the communities, engagement of land boundary dispute between communities, cattle dealers Association engagement with Ebonyi State Commanding officer, other security agencies and stakeholders, major stakeholders Unity engagement, setting of military check points in the deadly locations, constituting Vigilante groups and drawing synergy among the security apparatus operating in the council.
More investments in security network of the Council, that brought about lasting solutions and long-term peace inception to date, when asked, the secret behind the success in security, the council chairman attributed all the success to the executive governor of Ebonyi State, Rt. Hon. Builder Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru FNIOB GGCEHF as the architect of planned execution that brought about lasting solutions in security of the Council.
