INDEGENOUS STANDARD MEASUREMENT CUPS: IMO STATE GOVERNMENT MOVES TO PROTECT CONSUMERS
The Imo state government, through consumer protection council have began statewide enforcement on the use of indegenous standard measurement cups for selling of grains in imo state. The actions and attitudes of some grain sellers really drawn the attention of government towards introducing the standard measurement cups with various degree of public awareness on the need to use the cups in selling grains in imo state. Therefore, consumers in Imo state are adviced to insist on buying grains with the standard measurement cups or report any violations of this directives to Imo State Consumer Protection Council, while grain dealers who have not gotten the indegenous standard measurement cup should approach the market Masters (ISAMATA) or Imo State CPC office at Area P, opposite ISOPADEC, new Owerri, Imo State.
Indeed, the shared prosperity government of Senator Hope Uzodimma has shown more interest in consumer related issues. Recent efforts of the Imo State Consumer Protection Council (CPC) under the leadership of Hon. Mrs Obioma Okafor as Director General, have also raised the confidence of the public on the sincerity and ability of the government to protect and promote the interest of consumers.
