The members of Imo state University Alumni Europe chapter under the leadership of Hon.Nnamdi Iyioku, within the week had it’s reunion and end of the year party in Grand style.
The reunion which took place at South East London Empire Lounge Bar and Restaurant London No 777 Old Kent Road London SE15 1NZ, was said to be the first of it kind in the history of Imo State University Alumni Association in Europe.
In his welcoming address the chairman of the association, Iyioku affirmed that, the Alumni Association was founded at the second quarter of 2018 which saw his appointment as the transitional Committee Chairman which lasted for six months (6) with the responsibility of organising the Chapter and conducting the general election for the Chapter.
It was reliably gathered by our correspondent, that, this great event saw the gathering of creams of creams and professionals in different fields of life endeavours who were graduates from different department in Imo State University Owerri from across Europe gathering for the first time since they left the University for abroad for more than twenty years now.
According to the chairman, despite the challenges the union is facing especially funding, the leadership of the association has been able to hold on and remain focused in their strive to make Imsu Alumni Europe Chapter the best.
He further seized the opportunity, to present to all the members, the Executive Committee laudable achievements in office since the inception of Imsu Alumni Europe Chapter.
These Commendable achievements include,Membership harmony, growth and happy assembly, they have been able to pilot the affair of the association from the era of transitional Committee to a democratic elected officials and the great Alumni Association experienced two successful elections which is a massive achievement for Imsu Alumni Europe Chapter, Membership Welfare package of the association has been strong and wonderful.
Going further, the Association has been able to maintain a regular Professional online lectures on varying Professional backgrounds and subjects for every month online with the sole aim of impacting knowledge and skill development of members in line with global dynamics and reality, Imsu Alumni Europe Chapter Social Handout: which become a platform for social handout for Imo stars in diaspora were all have been able to reunite again after all this years that they left Imo State University Owerri.
They have also engaged in Welfare Contributions to their esteemed members who lost their loved ones in order to encourage and give succour to them.
From the foregoing,there is no doubt that the great Alumni is on the right footing and more would be done to bring about that greater Imsu Alumni Association which they all dreamed to have.
Concluding his speech, he prayed to God to keep and protect each and every one of the members of the union in good health while wishing them a happy Christmas and prosperous New year ahead.
